Classic SID Remixes

This batch of SID remixes were made '98-'99.

At this time I just wanted to add some beats and instruments to enhance the already great sound of the original SID sounds. It might sound like a cheap way of making remixes but that was only how I wanted it: nostalgia and dance music.
These titles are also among the more popular ones on the C64, so you should recognize any of these if you ever had a C64.

These MP3s are 192kbps and were restored from an old Audio CD I found recently so they are a bit better quality than the 128kbps ones circulating on the Internet. Some minor polishing has been made to freshen them up a bit too.

The C64 version had completely different music compared to the original arcade and NES version. I don't know the reason for this but the SID version rocked of course.

I never played the game, I just heard the ripped music in cracktros etc. Probably my favorite all-time SID.

I was actually inspired by the cracktro/demo remix by Avalon/Fairlight. That's why I called it "Fairlight" instead of Druid II.

You had to have some music while loading, and the Ocean Loaders were awesome. You gladly loaded a game just to listen to the music.

This was my first SID remix attempt. It doesn't sound good and it was really made with a simple approach. But it was real cool to know that you were be able to "enhance" the good old tunes.

This was my second attempt on this particular tune. It turned out a bit different but it's better than my first one.

The SID remixing: (1998)

The SID remixing started after having downloaded The High Voltage SID Collection. I was blown away by being able to listen to the tunes I used to enjoy back when I was a kid. The nostalgia was... incredible.

Then, just as a fun, quick&dirty experiment I made a simple remix of Last Ninja. It was more of an "enhanced" SID version with some effects on the original SID sounds to a dance beat but my friends liked it and I decided to make some more remixes of my favorite C64 games.
I uploaded the remixes and noticed that people on the Internet liked my remixes too, and I got some positive feedback from people who also liked those old SIDs.
